This summer I decided to get active and tried to get into Kayaking.
We spent the summer having fun kayaking, traveling and off roading.
I went to girls camp and was a den mom for the first years which was so much fun.
We did a huge service project at the park.....
Went zip lining....
We even did a disater hike where I played a person with hypothermia who fell and had a head wound. Even though it was alot of fun our beloved city of Prescott Valley was going through a crisis with a huge fire.
This fire was eventually contained but shortly after the huge Yarnell fire happened which killed the hot shot fire crew. There was not one person in the tri city area that didnt know someone suffering from the loss of the fire fighters.
There were ups and downs this year. I got good news that I got the promotion I had been waiting for and became Case Manager at Sequel Care. I worked hard but I felt like something was missing.
October was a big month for us. We went to the annual Prescott rally.....
We also went to Las Vegas to hang out with the same friends we hung out with in St. George. While there I realized that our life had been work, work and more work. We have become robots doing the same thing everyday. That's when we decided we had to make a change. When we got home from the vacation we celebrated my birthday.
Daniel did a great job making me feel special. Along with the presents shown here he made me breakfast in bed.
We were invited by our bishop to go to a fireside one Sunday and found out about this program called Pathway that goes through BYU Idaho. It is this real awesome program that helps you go to school after not going for awhile and only charges you 65 dollars a credit. With this program Daniel and I will be able to get our 4 year degrees for less than 8,000 dollars each. We signed up right away and will begin school in January.
With all the good things going on we were bound to have some bad. I went to the doctor and was told that there is nothing more that they can do for my endomitriosis. The doctor told me that I have tried everything and there comes a point where you have to just say "is it worth it." He then told me that I would need a hysterectomy but understood that it was a hard decision and left it up to us. I had talked with Daniel about this being a possibility and we prayed and decided to follow doctors orders. It took a long time and it was a very painful decision for the both of us. There were a lot of tears (on my part) and a lot of going to my heavenly father praying for a miracle. I went to Time Out for Women a Deseret Book event and while listening to all the spiritual speakers I realized that maybe I was praying for the wrong things. Maybe all of my issues were because Heavenly Father has a different plan for me then the plan I had for myself. I had made the decision and decided to go through with the surgery. When my doctor called with a date for surgery I was able to accept it. I will be going in for surgery on the 5th of December and will be out of commission for 4 to 6 weeks. Even though I get teary eyed every time I think of not being able to have kids I know that this is what my Heavenly Father wants of me. I continued to feel sad and kind of selfish until we went to the temple and I was able to have a serious heart to heart with the Lord. I felt so much peace and tranquility and I now know that the surgery is the right thing for me. I will be posting more often seeing as next week I will be home more often the next couple of weeks.
